Trascorsi circa 6 mesi dall'introduzione sul mercato del chip GeForce 3, nVidia ha annunciato il giorno 2 Ottobre la nuova gamma di schede video, GeForce Titanium. Piuttosto che introdurre una nuova scheda video di fascia alta, nVidia per quest'appuntamento ha preferito scegliere la carta dell'intera famiglia di schede video, che miri a completare l'offerta dal videogiocatore estremo all'utente entry level.
Il modello di punta, GeForce 3 Ti500, può essere considerata una sorta di GeForce 3 Ultra; rispetto al chip GeForce 3, infatti, vanta frequenze di lavoro più elevate ma a livello di archittettura non sono da segnalare innovazioni. Il modello di fascia media, GeForce 3 Ti200, si differenzia dai chip GeForce 3 Ti500 e GeForce 3 solo per le frequenze di lavoro inferiori, mentre l'architettura è immutata. L'ultimo chip, di fascia entry level, è il GeForce 2 Ti: si tratta di un chip GeForce 2 Ultra con frequenza di clock di 250 Mhz abbinato a memoria DDR con frequenza di clock di 400 Mhz, la stessa delle schede GeForce 2 PRO commercializzato da nVidia a partire dall'inizio dell'anno.
