una <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/nvidia\/comments\/1rczghu\/update_unreleased_20gb_rtx_3080_ti_shunt_and\/?utm_source=embedv2&amp;utm_medium=post_embed&amp;utm_content=post_body&amp;embed_host_url=https:\/\/www.eteknix.com\/modder-pushes-unreleased-rtx-3080-ti-20-gb-to-555w\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">variante mai ufficialmente<\/a> lanciata che recentemente \u00e8 tornata sotto i riflettori grazie a un modder che ne ha sbloccato il potenziale nascosto.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"300\" data-end=\"649\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hwlegend.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/NVIDIA-GeForce-RTX-3080-Ti-20GB-mai-rilasciata-mod-a-555W-e-overclock-estremo.jpg\"><img data-end=\"786\">La scheda, apparsa online negli ultimi giorni, presenta caratteristiche peculiari:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul data-start=\"788\" data-end=\"910\">\n<li data-start=\"788\" data-end=\"816\">\n<p data-start=\"790\" data-end=\"816\">Bus di memoria a 320-bit;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"817\" data-end=\"834\">\n<p data-start=\"819\" data-end=\"834\">20 GB di VRAM;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"835\" data-end=\"910\">\n<p data-start=\"837\" data-end=\"910\">Moduli di memoria anche sul retro del PCB, simili alla GeForce RTX 3090,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"912\" data-end=\"1093\">Pur essendo tecnicamente completa, non essendo mai stata un SKU ufficiale, il firmware e i limiti energetici imposti non permettevano di esprimere pienamente le specifiche teoriche.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1095\" data-end=\"1098\" \/>\n<p data-start=\"1100\" data-end=\"1141\"><strong>Shunt mod: superare il limite dei 390W<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"1143\" data-end=\"1338\">Il modder ha effettuato una <strong data-start=\"1171\" data-end=\"1192\">stacked shunt mod<\/strong> utilizzando shunt da 10 mOhm sulle linee di sensing del connettore 12-pin e dello slot PCIe (senza intervenire sui rail di memoria o controller).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"1340\" data-end=\"1364\"><strong>Risultati energetici<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul data-start=\"1366\" data-end=\"1476\">\n<li data-start=\"1366\" data-end=\"1399\">\n<p data-start=\"1368\" data-end=\"1399\">Power limit originale: <strong data-start=\"1391\" data-end=\"1399\">390W<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1400\" data-end=\"1437\">\n<p data-start=\"1402\" data-end=\"1437\">Consumo stabile raggiunto: <strong data-start=\"1429\" data-end=\"1437\">480W<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1438\" data-end=\"1476\">\n<p data-start=\"1440\" data-end=\"1476\">Picco massimo in overclock: <strong data-start=\"1468\" data-end=\"1476\">555W<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"1478\" data-end=\"1643\">L\u2019intervento ha permesso alla GPU di aggirare le limitazioni del power management, incrementando la corrente disponibile e quindi la frequenza operativa sostenibile.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1645\" data-end=\"1648\" \/>\n<p data-start=\"1650\" data-end=\"1711\"><strong>Gestione termica: liquid metal e pad ad alta conducibilit\u00e0<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"1713\" data-end=\"1793\">Come prevedibile, l\u2019aumento del consumo ha generato un forte incremento termico.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1795\" data-end=\"1846\">Per contenere le temperature, sono stati applicati:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul data-start=\"1848\" data-end=\"1994\">\n<li data-start=\"1848\" data-end=\"1884\">\n<p data-start=\"1850\" data-end=\"1884\"><strong data-start=\"1850\" data-end=\"1866\">Liquid metal<\/strong> sul die della GPU;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1885\" data-end=\"1948\">\n<p data-start=\"1887\" data-end=\"1948\">Rondelle da 0,5 mm per aumentare la pressione del dissipatore;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1949\" data-end=\"1994\">\n<p data-start=\"1951\" data-end=\"1994\">Thermal pad sostituiti (da 12W\/mK a 20W\/mK).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"1996\" data-end=\"2127\">Grazie a queste modifiche, la temperatura in idle \u00e8 scesa fino a <strong data-start=\"2061\" data-end=\"2069\">31\u00b0C<\/strong>, un risultato notevole considerando l\u2019aumento di potenza.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2129\" data-end=\"2132\" \/>\n<p data-start=\"2134\" data-end=\"2177\"><strong>Il collo di bottiglia: la memoria GDDR6X<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"2179\" data-end=\"2213\">Il vero limite \u00e8 emerso lato VRAM.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2215\" data-end=\"2274\">Sotto carico, le temperature della memoria hanno raggiunto:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul data-start=\"2276\" data-end=\"2325\">\n<li data-start=\"2276\" data-end=\"2294\">\n<p data-start=\"2278\" data-end=\"2294\">Fino a <strong data-start=\"2285\" data-end=\"2294\">102\u00b0C<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2295\" data-end=\"2325\">\n<p data-start=\"2297\" data-end=\"2325\">Comparsa di artefatti visivi.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"2327\" data-end=\"2457\">Per mitigare il problema, sono stati aggiunti <strong data-start=\"2373\" data-end=\"2420\">dissipatori esterni sul casing della scheda<\/strong>, migliorando la dispersione termica.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2459\" data-end=\"2477\">Dopo l\u2019intervento:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul data-start=\"2479\" data-end=\"2568\">\n<li data-start=\"2479\" data-end=\"2517\">\n<p data-start=\"2481\" data-end=\"2517\">Temperature memoria sotto i <strong data-start=\"2509\" data-end=\"2517\">94\u00b0C<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2518\" data-end=\"2568\">\n<p data-start=\"2520\" data-end=\"2568\">Stabilit\u00e0 mantenuta anche con ray tracing attivo.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"2570\" data-end=\"2751\">Questo comportamento evidenzia quanto i moduli GDDR6X \u2014 gi\u00e0 noti per le alte temperature operative \u2014 diventino un fattore critico quando si superano ampiamente i limiti di progetto.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2753\" data-end=\"2756\" \/>\n<p data-start=\"2758\" data-end=\"2806\"><strong>Un esperimento estremo su hardware \u201cfantasma\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"2808\" data-end=\"2877\">Il caso della RTX 3080 Ti 20GB dimostra diversi aspetti interessanti:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ol data-start=\"2879\" data-end=\"3121\">\n<li data-start=\"2879\" data-end=\"2952\">\n<p data-start=\"2882\" data-end=\"2952\">Esistono prototipi perfettamente funzionanti mai arrivati sul mercato,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2953\" data-end=\"3030\">\n<p data-start=\"2956\" data-end=\"3030\">I limiti imposti dal firmware e dal power design sono spesso conservativi;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3031\" data-end=\"3121\">\n<p data-start=\"3034\" data-end=\"3121\">Con competenze avanzate, \u00e8 possibile spingere una GPU ben oltre le specifiche previste.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"3123\" data-end=\"3197\">Tuttavia, operazioni come shunt mod e utilizzo di liquid metal comportano:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<ul data-start=\"3199\" data-end=\"3313\">\n<li data-start=\"3199\" data-end=\"3243\">\n<p data-start=\"3201\" data-end=\"3243\">Rischi elevati per l\u2019integrit\u00e0 del silicio;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3244\" data-end=\"3272\">\n<p data-start=\"3246\" data-end=\"3272\">Possibili danni permanenti;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3273\" data-end=\"3313\">\n<p data-start=\"3275\" data-end=\"3313\">Assenza totale di protezioni ufficiali.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"3315\" data-end=\"3318\" \/>\n<p data-start=\"3320\" data-end=\"3346\"><strong>Considerazioni tecniche<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"3348\" data-end=\"3479\">Portare una GPU Ampere oltre i <strong data-start=\"3379\" data-end=\"3387\">550W<\/strong> significa entrare in un territorio normalmente riservato a configurazioni custom estreme.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3481\" data-end=\"3743\">Se questa variante fosse stata ufficialmente commercializzata, avrebbe probabilmente rappresentato un\u2019alternativa intermedia tra RTX 3080 Ti e RTX 3090.
