Il risultato \u00e8 decisamente fuori dagli standard: la scheda \u00e8 riuscita a raggiungere un assorbimento di circa <strong data-start=\"731\" data-end=\"743\">900 watt<\/strong>, spingendosi fino a una frequenza di <strong data-start=\"781\" data-end=\"792\">3,4 GHz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"795\" data-end=\"958\">Il dato pi\u00f9 sorprendente \u00e8 che ciascun connettore da 8 pin, normalmente indicato per circa <strong data-start=\"886\" data-end=\"895\">150 W<\/strong>, \u00e8 stato sottoposto a un carico equivalente a circa <strong data-start=\"948\" data-end=\"957\">300 W<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"795\" data-end=\"958\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hwlegend.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/RTX-5090-da-900-watt-con-tre-connettori-a-8-pin-la-folle-mod-di-TecLab.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-225644\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hwlegend.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/RTX-5090-da-900-watt-con-tre-connettori-a-8-pin-la-folle-mod-di-TecLab-1024x596.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"596\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"960\" data-end=\"1023\"><strong>Una RTX 5090D HOF modificata direttamente sull&#8217;alimentazione<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"1025\" data-end=\"1261\">La scheda utilizzata per l&#8217;esperimento \u00e8 una <strong data-start=\"1070\" data-end=\"1112\">Galax GeForce RTX 5090D HOF OC LAB XOC<\/strong>, modello progettato proprio per gli appassionati di overclock estremo e caratterizzato originariamente dalla presenza di <strong data-start=\"1234\" data-end=\"1260\">due connettori 12V-2\u00d76<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1263\" data-end=\"1405\">TecLab ha modificato il circuito di alimentazione collegando direttamente i regolatori di tensione della GPU ai nuovi connettori PCIe a 8 pin.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"1263\" data-end=\"1405\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hwlegend.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/RTX-5090-da-900-watt-con-tre-connettori-a-8-pin-la-folle-mod-di-TecLab-1.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-225642\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hwlegend.tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/RTX-5090-da-900-watt-con-tre-connettori-a-8-pin-la-folle-mod-di-TecLab-1-1024x576.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"1407\" data-end=\"1594\">In questo modo i connettori <strong data-start=\"1435\" data-end=\"1474\">12V-2\u00d76 originali vengono bypassati<\/strong>, permettendo di utilizzare una configurazione di alimentazione completamente diversa da quella prevista dal produttore.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1596\" data-end=\"1759\">Il risultato \u00e8 una RTX 5090 capace di operare con un quantitativo di energia decisamente superiore alle specifiche convenzionali del sistema di alimentazione PCIe.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"1761\" data-end=\"1808\"><strong>900 W e 3,4 GHz: numeri da overclock estremo<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"1810\" data-end=\"1943\">Con i <strong data-start=\"1816\" data-end=\"1845\">tre connettori PCIe 8-pin<\/strong>, la scheda \u00e8 arrivata a consumare circa <strong data-start=\"1886\" data-end=\"1895\">900 W<\/strong>, raggiungendo una frequenza GPU di <strong data-start=\"1931\" data-end=\"1942\">3,4 GHz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1945\" data-end=\"2044\">Per avere un riferimento, si tratta di un livello di potenza enorme per una singola scheda grafica.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2046\" data-end=\"2178\">L&#8217;esperimento \u00e8 per\u00f2 diventato ancora pi\u00f9 interessante quando TecLab ha ridotto progressivamente il numero di connettori utilizzati.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2180\" data-end=\"2315\">Con <strong data-start=\"2184\" data-end=\"2208\">due connettori 8-pin<\/strong>, la GPU ha registrato un assorbimento di circa <strong data-start=\"2256\" data-end=\"2264\">66 A<\/strong>, mantenendo comunque una frequenza di <strong data-start=\"2303\" data-end=\"2314\">3,2 GHz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2317\" data-end=\"2418\">Con un solo connettore, invece, la scheda ha raggiunto circa <strong data-start=\"2378\" data-end=\"2386\">65 A<\/strong> e una frequenza di <strong data-start=\"2406\" data-end=\"2417\">3,1 GHz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2420\" data-end=\"2660\">I test dimostrano quindi quanto margine possa esserci nella gestione dell&#8217;alimentazione di una GPU progettata per l&#8217;overclock, anche se i risultati non devono essere interpretati come indicazione di un utilizzo sicuro in condizioni normali.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"2662\" data-end=\"2718\"><strong>Il dato pi\u00f9 curioso? I connettori non si sono sciolti<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"2720\" data-end=\"2800\">L&#8217;aspetto forse pi\u00f9 interessante dell&#8217;esperimento riguarda proprio i connettori. TecLab ha spinto i <strong data-start=\"2821\" data-end=\"2869\">PCIe 8-pin ben oltre il loro limite nominale<\/strong>, arrivando a circa il doppio della potenza normalmente associata a ciascun connettore. Nonostante questo, durante il test non si \u00e8 verificato il temuto cedimento fisico con fusione del connettore o del cavo.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3079\" data-end=\"3275\">Il risultato \u00e8 particolarmente curioso considerando la reputazione controversa che negli ultimi anni ha accompagnato i connettori <strong data-start=\"3209\" data-end=\"3230\">12VHPWR e 12V-2\u00d76<\/strong>, utilizzati sulle GPU Nvidia di fascia alta.<\/p>\n<div class=\"flex max-w-full flex-col gap-4 grow\">\n<div class=\"min-h-8 text-message relative flex w-full flex-col items-end gap-2 text-start break-words whitespace-normal outline-none keyboard-focused:focus-ring [.text-message+&amp;]:mt-1\" dir=\"auto\" tabindex=\"0\" data-message-author-role=\"assistant\" data-message-id=\"f98c6b0b-c3b3-4b63-9894-9669247d96ad\" data-message-model-slug=\"gpt-5-6-mini\" data-turn-start-message=\"true\">\n<div class=\"flex w-full flex-col gap-1 empty:hidden\">\n<div class=\"fbskMG_root markdown prose dark:prose-invert wrap-break-word w-full dark markdown-new-styling\">\n<p class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-start=\"3319\" data-end=\"3615\">Naturalmente, il fatto che un connettore abbia resistito a un particolare test estremo <strong data-start=\"3406\" data-end=\"3483\">non significa che sia sicuro utilizzarlo abitualmente oltre le specifiche<\/strong>. L&#8217;esperimento di TecLab \u00e8 un caso di overclock estremo e non rappresenta una configurazione raccomandabile per un PC tradizionale.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"3617\" data-end=\"3682\"><strong>Perch\u00e9 l&#8217;8-pin continua a essere apprezzato dagli appassionati<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"3684\" data-end=\"3791\">Il vecchio connettore PCIe a 8 pin continua comunque a godere di una certa popolarit\u00e0 tra gli appassionati.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3793\" data-end=\"4037\">La sua struttura relativamente grande, i contatti robusti e un margine di sicurezza percepito come maggiore rispetto ai connettori pi\u00f9 recenti sono alcuni dei motivi per cui molti assemblatori continuano a considerarlo una soluzione affidabile.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4039\" data-end=\"4159\">Il problema \u00e8 che <strong data-start=\"4057\" data-end=\"4158\">l&#8217;8-pin non \u00e8 stato progettato per le richieste energetiche delle GPU moderne di fascia altissima<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4161\" data-end=\"4315\">Una RTX 5090, utilizzando tre o quattro connettori 8-pin e mantenendosi entro i limiti nominali, richiederebbe infatti un numero elevato di cavi dedicati.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4317\" data-end=\"4429\">Per un sistema di questo tipo, ci\u00f2 significa maggiore ingombro e una gestione dei cavi decisamente meno pratica.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"4431\" data-end=\"4479\"><strong>Il futuro potrebbe essere un nuovo connettore<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-start=\"4481\" data-end=\"4702\">L&#8217;esperimento di TecLab riporta quindi in primo piano una questione che il settore PC deve ancora risolvere: <strong data-start=\"4590\" data-end=\"4701\">come alimentare GPU sempre pi\u00f9 potenti senza aumentare in modo sproporzionato i rischi legati ai connettori<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4704\" data-end=\"5018\">L&#8217;idea di utilizzare un singolo cavo per alimentare una scheda video di fascia alta rimane estremamente interessante dal punto di vista pratico.
